FOOD CONSCIOUSNESS

Generally, people have the mindset that
sickness, a consequence of disease, is inevitable in humans' life. Because of this, many are not concerned about the content of the foods they consume. After all, people tend to fall sick at a point in their life despite been conscious and selective of what they eat on a daily basis. While all these are true, it should be noted that the chances of experiencing certain chronic diseases (e.g. cancer and heart issues) can be influenced by what you and me eats everyday. The food you eat can, after a period of time, becomes the causes of lifetime health challenges. Also, our daily food intake can reduce the risk of many health problems to a certain degree. Life threatening disease such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases, high blood pressure, kidney failure as well as asthma may be incriminated by what we eat. Most people who are health conscious and thereby been selective of what goes into their stomach usually shift their attention towards those food that might result to immediate health issues. For instance, they quickly reject food perceived to have been prepared in a poorly cleaned environment, or whose producer did not observe a strict hygienic practice during the cause of production. They are not much concerned about the chronic health effect of the nutrients that constitute the food, as well as the additives and preservatives contents. If one must be conscious of what he/she eats, one should consider not only the palatability of the food, the energy contents, the nutritional value, its safety or quality but also the chronic health effects  (that's the effects after a long period of time due to gradual exposure to certain food contents in small amount over a period of time ), as well as how it can be used to minimize the likelihood of encountering different health challenges at a very young age. Don't forget that, "WE ARE WHAT WE EAT". Hence, when next you want to plan your meal, plan it well.
