Avocado and heart health
One of the vital organs in human is the heart. Being a vital organ, it's therefore very important that we take good care of it. No doubt, it will be surprising to know that most of the common heart diseases such as heart attack can be controlled by certain foods that we may had been neglecting in our diet. Avocado had been discovered to be among the foods that can help to maintain the natural function of the heart. It gives you oleic acid, which can reduce the level of bad cholesterol (LDL) in your bloodstream. This bad cholesterol can cause a buildup of plaque in the artery. Consequently, leading to heart attack.
Therefore, making it part of your diet by putting a few slice on your food,or just taking it will go a long way in contributing to your heart health.
Nevertheless,while you want to consider avocado to be part of your diet,due to its health benefit, it will be wise to consider its negative effects as well. Some of the identified effects that will accompany overdose or excess consumption of avocado are: (1)possible weight gain as it contains allot of calories. (2) liver issues. It contains two compounds: estragole and anethole which can cause liver issues. (3). It can reduce milk (breast milk) production and also have the ability to damage the mammary gland. More to this, its not good for a baby's health (the stomach). Hence, it should not be taken by a breastfeeding mothers and pregnant women. At this point, the question will be what dose is advisable? Anyway, the dose of avocado to be taken varies,depending on the other fat and calories contents in your diet. Its advisable also to quit it's consumption when you notice your body reacts to it.
